What have I wrought upon myself with that sad excuse of a title? Ah, yeah, I’m just taking advantage of a rapidly tiring Internet meme.

Out of Orlando, Florida, we have ourselves the closest thing to a LOLCat joke as you’re going to get on the cam scene. Marcus Sharpe’s got himself not one, but two cameras; one of which is focused, if you haven’t guessed by now, directly on his cats’ sleeping quarters. (The other runs part-time during the day, focusing outside.)

As a good friend of mine from West Virginia once said, “It isn’t all that bad…” Except now that I have proof that there is, in fact, a part of West Virginia that proves him right: Marshall University’s LegoCity cam. Not only can you sit idly by and watch the various parts of the Lego empire swing and fly past the camera, you can actually operate parts of it yourself.

You might be 32 years old, and you might just be sitting at work, but you have no excuse not to check it out at some point today unless your heart could be symbolized by a lump of coal.

Piranha Pictures’ Piranha Cam could be considered one of the more odd cameras out there, but given their line of work it seems somewhat appropriate. One wonders how many an unlucky intern have been asked to feed them as an initiation to their studio.

Regardless, check it out–you might catch more than just their meal floating about.

Acapulco, Mexico: Think warm thoughts

For many folks out there, winter’s not just a two-month stretch where the temperatures might hit 30 degrees; it’s a full-on five-month barrage of snow, ice, and sub-zero temperatures. People up north–and everywhere else where Winter can be a four-letter word–I salute your patience with nature and give you this classic view of Acapulco, Mexico courtesy of Madeiras Restaurant.

Remember, it can’t stay 10 below zero forever. Well, unless you’re in Antarctica, of course.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa: Pointless billboard camera

For the inaugural entry on “Cam of the Day”, it wouldn’t seem all that logical to feature in the first entry what I consider one of the most pointless wastes of time and energy on the Internet: the “billboard” cam. But here we are, and it’s everything you’d expect it to be.

Cedar Rapids, Iowa isn’t the only locale guilty of setting up these types of cams by any stretch, but you can check this one out right here and feel the excitement.
